The second project Hope Included is embarking on is an inclusive playground for children at Althaus Park on Signal Mountain, TN. We are working with The Harmon family to make one little girl's dream a reality! Dollie has spina bifida and uses a wheelchair as a tool. We want to create a space for ALL ages and abilities to play together. We want to have an accessible space for the aging community to be able to enjoy walking trails or a bench in the shade while watching their grandkids play.
Adam and Emily have 3 kids: Lola, Brooks, and Dahlia "Dollie". This whole dream began when Dollie came home talking about her lacking ability to play with her friends at recess. Finding a safe for all 3 kids to play has been a challenge for The Harmon's and with a little bit of encouraging, they decided to make their own space. Their vision is to create a place for EVERYONE: all ages and all abilities to gather and grow as a community. When they aren't building playgrounds, they are at the ball fields, jiu jitsu, or The SMAC doing functional fitness.
Lauryn is the wife of Kevin and mother of 4 tiny red heads: Blair, Myra, Nora, and Liam. Lauryn spends her time watching her girls do gymnastics, doing CrossFit, and chasing around a toddler! She has been pivotal in helping to create the vision and breaking it down into manageable steps. Lauryn is the glue that holds it all together and we are so thankful for her!
Marie is the wife to Michael and mom to Van and Farrah. She has a full schedule with pageants, sports, and real estate. Her marketing background has been so helpful in making sure the community is in the know. Marie works as the editor for Signal Mountain Living where she writes beautiful articles about the community she loves so much!
Chelsea is the wife to Clayton and mom to two sweet boys: Gus and Crockett. She works with United Way and helps us tremendously with her graphic design skills passion for making Signal a better place. If she isn't event planning or creating art, you can find her outside at a ball field or watching her boys play a classic game of kick the can. To know Chelsea is to love her.
Emily is the wife to Travis and mother to Norah and Jacob. Emily teaches preschool at St. Timothy's STEPS program and is definitely well loved! She is dedicated to volunteer work at Thrasher Elementary and very involved at her church. When she isn't helping the community, she can be found at her daughter's play practices or the ball fields with her son. Emily isn't a thinker, she is a doer, and we would truly be lost without her.
